ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS

Mily T. of San Francisco has been fascinated with Stepping Stones (steppingstones.org), the historic home of Alcoholics Anonymous cofounder Bill Wilson and Al-Anon Family Groups cofounder Lois Wilson in Katonah, New York, since first visiting in 2010. From 3,000 miles away she has been an active archive researcher, online archive volunteer, and Ambassador.

Based on in depth research around the globe, Mily has given illustrated history presentations about early Alcoholics Anonymous.  Mily's in person and online presentations inspire recovery by featuring Stepping Stones' extensive archive and collection (over 110,000 artifacts and manuscripts), the National Historic Landmark site, and the legacy of Bill and Lois Wilson.

Andrea Ashley, of Bryn Mawr is the host of Adult Child and founder of The Shitshow healing community. The former CPA turned podcast host grew up outside of Philadelphia in an alcoholic household. Andrea turned to drugs and alcohol herself at the age of 12. After years in and out rehabs and boarding schools, she was granted the gift of sobriety at the age of 19 and celebrated 15 years of continuous sobriety in September 2023.

In 2018 and 9 years of sobriety, Andrea had her "second great surrender" and came to terms with the true impact her dysfunctional upbringing had on her. This bottom and the subsequent healing journey led her to launch Adult Child in March of 2021.

Sam Lamott, of San Francisco is a former teen dad, college drop-out, and ex-meth head, who came out of a ten-year bender at the age of twenty-two with severe clinical depression, a two-year-old, and zero life skills. He became sober in 2011 and has since transformed his life into something he never could’ve imagined.

He is now happily married and raising a teenager in San Francisco. He has also enjoyed a wide-ranging artistic career, including designs featured in the New York Smithsonian, a podcast on Apple’s Top 100, and most recently founding the fastest-growing writing collective in the world, A Writing Room.

Gail L has been active in preserving the history of Alcoholics Anonymous in Akron, Ohio, the birthplace of Alcoholics Anonymous, for over 40 years. Originally trained by Nell Wing, she served as the Archivist at the Intergroup Office from 1995-2003  Currently she is the Archivist at Dr. Bob’s Home.
